[Study God Raiders] Start from scratch! 2021 Motorcycle License Examination Guide (Super detailed introduction to the whole process!)

2021-06-07

Written test, mandatory test, road test? Don't be confused anymore!

To get a motorcycle license plate, you need to pass the "Written Test" (Part A Test), "Compulsory Test" (Part B Test) and "Road Test" (Part C Test) in sequence, a total of three tests. The "Written Test" and the "Compulsory Test" need to be registered together, but the "Road Test" (Part C Test) can be registered separately. You can freely choose the road test course and instructor that suits you.

If you have taken the written test (for example, you have already taken the written test when you test for other license plates), you can be exempted from taking the "written test" and start directly from the "compulsory test".

How long does it take to test the license? Depends on your degree!

Generally speaking, from zero to qualified, if it goes well, you can get a license in about one year at the earliest. The test period and frequency of the "written test" are quite fixed, and there is no shortcut. If you want to get a card faster, the secret is to choose the "compulsory test" and "road test" test venues wisely. The scheduling time of some test centers will be relatively fast. For example, the market with the fastest queue for the "road test" is So Kon Po (also known as Causeway Bay, Stadium) on Hong Kong Island. Generally, it only takes 3 to 7 months to queue, while Tin Kwong Road in Kowloon takes a little more patience. It takes 5 to 12 months longer than Hong Kong Island.

Remember, if you fail the road test and want to reschedule the road test, the next normal schedule will be based on the above one and wait for the later period.

Registration Procedures and Precautions

The first step, of course, is to sign up! The "written test" and the "compulsory test" must be bundled and registered at the same time. Before registration, you need to decide which test room to study the compulsory courses and take the compulsory test. If you do not want to be bound for the "road test", you need to register in person at these four government-designated driving schools, which are:

(1) Siu Lek Yuen Driving School: 138 Sha Tin Wai Road, Siu Lek Yuen, Sha Tin

(2) Yuen Long Driving School: 38 Chung Yip Road, Yuen Long

(3) Ap Lei Chau Driving School: 68 Lee Nam Road, Ap Lei Chau

(4) New Kwun Tong Driving Academy: No. 8, You Shun Street, Kwun Tong

The registration systems of the first three driving schools are interoperable, that is, you can go to "Register in Yuen Long, attend class in Ap Lei Chau", and vice versa. The systems of the new Kwun Tong Driving Academy are not interoperable. If you want to study in Kwun Tong, you can only register in Kwun Tong. Similarly, Kwun Tong cannot handle the registration procedures for the other three schools for you.

Special Note (1): You cannot go to the Transport Department to register, you need to go to the designated driving academy to register.

Special Note (2): You cannot report for the net written test. The logic of the Transport Department is that all three exams belong to the same road ticket (examination fee).

Special attention (3) If you have taken the written test (for example, you have already taken the written test when you test other license plates), you can exempt from taking the "written test" and start studying the "compulsory test" directly. However, due to the concept of the above test fee (road ticket) , the Transport Department will not reduce the fare accordingly.

Additional knowledge: driving test, behind it is "qu"

There are 4 driving schools, do you think you have a choice for the "compulsory test"? In fact, all the above four "government-designated driving schools" are independently operated by the same private company. The boss behind it is Zhang Songqiao, who is known as "Chongqing Li Ka-shing". Even the Western Crossing is owned by his company. Even if you see other driving schools such as MEG, A1, etc., many people know that they are inextricably linked with the Hong Kong Driving School.

Although you can't really choose the "compulsory test", the "road test" is up to you. You can freely choose which instructor to follow, and you don't need to be tied to the driving school.

It's time for Fai Sir to "Li Shen", I am one of the motorcycle "road test" masters (not belonging to the above driving school). I write this information, in addition to wanting you to get to know me, I also hope that you can learn more about Hong Kong's system and support a fair and open free market, because The service provided by the industry is getting better and better.

Written test (Part A test)

When registering, the designated driving school will give you a "Road Users' Code", which includes all the driving knowledge that will be tested. The latest version of 2020 is blue, while the old version has a yellow cover (it has been used for 20 years!), remember not to use it wrong. After you sign up, you will get the written test period. After about one month, you will take the written test.

The time limit for the exam is 20 minutes, answer 20 multiple-choice questions, choose 1 from 3 for each question; answer 16 questions correctly (that is, 80%) or more, it is considered a pass. Basically, you will pass if you have a review book, and there are also a lot of mock test questions on the Internet.

Although it is called a "written test", you do not need to bring a pen, and you will use a computer to take the test throughout the process. You only need to bring (1) hong kong identity card or other recognized identity documents, such as passport (the document shown must match the records of the transport department; damaged or expired ones will not be accepted), along with (2) the examination schedule period letter.

After passing the written test, you need to contact the driving school where you signed up for the "compulsory test". He will verify whether you have passed the written test, and will deal with the details of applying for the "compulsory test" with you. Generally, it can start within 1 month at the earliest Go to court.

"Compulsory class" has a total of 3 classes, each class is 4 hours, a total of 12 hours. You can choose to attend the class for 3 consecutive days, or separately. Please check with the designated driving school for the exact class day. Class content includes motorcycle theory lessons, such as basic structure, operation, etc., and there is also part of the time for you to get on the bike for actual combat. The first time you come into contact with motorcycles, it may be easier to lose fire and balance, so you can get used to it and relax after a while, so don't worry too much. Don't miss out on these free tips before taking the mandatory exam.

When you go to the compulsory school, although the driving school has a helmet to borrow, but in addition to the smell, there is still a chance to not fit your helmet, so as not to protect you enough, Hui Sir strongly recommends that you buy a helmet and buy a helmet. The pair of gloves go to court first. I took an online course [Equipment for Motorcycle Novices], 3 episodes of free videos to help you choose a suitable helmet and other accessories, watch it immediately: After passing the mandatory test, if you did not bundle the road test at the beginning, you And you can freely choose the road test examination room with the master! From 7 working days after passing the mandatory pass (within 3 years at the latest), you should go to the Transport Department to apply for a school license. You can choose Tin Kwong Road in Kowloon or So Kon Po on Hong Kong Island in the street market (non-college examination room), and you will receive The exam period for the same road test. This procedure can be done on behalf of someone.

Road test (Part C test)

Start studying at least 2 months before the exam. If you really find that your learning progress is not fast enough, you will have time to practice extra. Students who learn to drive during the rainy season should book an extra month to avoid not being able to learn enough to drive due to the rain.

There are two main parts of the road test, which are "Bazi on Inclined Road" and "Practical Road Combat". As the name suggests, "Character 8 on Inclined Road" is to test your ability to make a U-turn on an inclined road, which is about 1-2 lanes wide. As for "practical road combat", the examiner will look at your performance on the designated route, whether you have shown subtle observation, quick response, and clear road knowledge.

Regardless of the test car, you don’t have to rent the car in front of you. You can buy your own car with your school license, but remember to consider the insurance price, whether the car is suitable for the test, whether the insurance covers the driving test, etc. generous factors.

If you pass the road test, you can go to pick up the P plate, which is a provisional driver's license, within 7 working days after passing the test. Follow the rules of the P card, and you can get the official card after one year without violating specific laws.

If the road test fails, is the normal schedule scheduled for the fast schedule?

If you are fat, after seven working days, you can choose to arrange the normal period or the "quick schedule" ("repeater fast schedule appointment service"). If you want to be stable, you can reschedule a normal period. The advantage is that you will have a definite date and time as soon as you register and schedule, and you can prepare early. This procedure can be done on behalf of someone.

The explanation is called "quick rush period" but is it not "quick draw period"? Because it was really fast and robbed on the website of the Transport Department, it was not drawn by lottery. The success rate of robbing by yourself is generally quite low, so not many people will ask Qian Kuaiqi Company to do it on their behalf. Because it is a grab, it is hard to say how long you will wait, it can be as fast as a month, or you may not be able to get it for an adult.

Only re-examination students can take the fast track, the first test is not eligible for the fast track, if you do not attend the first test, it will be regarded as you have not passed the test.
